Three regional Aedas projects demonstrated design excellence at the 2013 Cityscape Awards for Emerging Markets.
October 15th, 2013
Hotel Indigo, Hong Kong, One AIA Financial Centre and Olympia 66 in China topped several award categories at the 2013 Cityscape Awards developed to celebrate global excellence in real-estate development and architecture.
The Dubai-based ceremony saw Aedas claim the leisure and tourism project award, commercial and mixed use project award and the retail project award for recognition of their capability to deliver world-class design solutions tailored to the needs of communities around the world.
One of the winning projects, Hotel Indigo Hong Kong Island features a striking golden bronze dragon wrapped around the building, creating a unique and cultural aspect to the world-class skyline. The building also features a dramatic glass bottomed cantilevered pool on the roof top – shimmering at night, the gleaming water is considered to be a pearl often associated with Chinese dragons.
Located in Foshan, China, One AIA Financial Center is LEED Gold certified. Towering 130 metres with a podium that offers training facilities and a multi-purpose hall, this office tower is located in the southwest corner of the project site with an open lake view, ample daylight and abundant greenery.
The design of Olympia 66, a six-storey shopping mall in Dalian, China, is inspired by the Chinese twin carp, a traditional symbol of wealth and abundance. The unique play of two swimming carp flows through the entire retail atrium creating a diverse lifestyle experience for the local market.
Celebrating excellence in real estate development and architecture, the 2013 Cityscape Awards for Emerging Markets offer international architects and leading real estate developers a prestigious platform from which to communicate a shared vision for the future.
