As we spend time in the office and at home the way we work is evolving but one thing is constant, we need amenity and facility to work correctly. As the pre-eminent architectural awards for the Indo Pacific region, the INDE.Awards presents the opportunity to experience myriad workplace interiors through The Work Space category, but it all comes down to the same elements – the right chair and desk, lighting and storage – to ensure order, comfort and productivity.

Within the plethora of categories in the 2021 INDE.Awards, The Work Space is a most important showcase for the way we work, the how, why and where. As sponsor of The Work Space, Herman Miller is at the vanguard of design and it supports architects and designers to create environments that make a difference to the wellbeing of employees.

Mike Radda, Regional Sales Director, Herman Miller explains, “Herman Miller has always had a strong connection with the design community and the workplace. Designers are important contributors in making our world a better place to live in. So, we believe in supporting the design community as they support creating a better world for all of us. The workspace is within our DNA. We invented the workstation in the 1960s based off research and we continue to design products for the workplace that improve people’s lives today.”

With more than 100-years of design and manufacturing know-how, Herman Miller is an exemplar in the supply of contemporary interior furnishings for the workplace, healthcare and related technologies and service industries. From inception, Herman Miller has embraced design and creates outstanding products that shape our workplace interiors. In the mid-twentieth century Herman Miller collaborated with design legends George Nelson and Charles and Ray Eames and today, carrying on the connection with modern day creative icons such as Don Chadwick, Yves Béhar and Isamu Noguchi (to name but a few), it has brought to market a multitude of exemplary products. For Herman Miller it is important to work with, and for, designers to ensure the Herman Miller offering is consummate.

Radda commented, “At Herman Miller we believe in a research-based approach to design. Especially when it comes to workspaces. We share our Research & Insights with the architecture and design communities so that they can create spaces that exceed best practices globally.”

Work and connection, learning and wellbeing in proportion, brings balance and satisfaction to the everyday and no-where better is this represented than in The Work Space, 2020 INDE.Awards. As category winner, CBA Axle, South Eveleigh by Woods Bagot exemplifies collaboration and innovation through this world-class interior. All working scenarios are explored and the 4,000 strong workforce has the opportunity to embrace this agile, next generation workplace.
