Perched on the 18th floor of Hong Kong's tallest retail complex, THE ONE are three distinctive dining concepts aesthetically inspired by local award-winning actress, Carina Lau.
Designed in collaboration with interior architect Ira Imerlishvili of Aedas Interiors, actress Carina Lau has contributed to the design of three contemporary dining interiors boasting minimalism and energy atop THE ONE shopping complex in Tsim Tsa Tsui. The project covers two stylish restaurants – one specialising in modern-fusion Kyoto cuisine and the other in contemporary Spanish. Both are bound by a dimly-lit but lively tapas bar.
The complete design concept: subtly inspired by interiors of the Four Seasons Hotel, the space features custom-made timber wood dining tables that are elegantly partitioned off by traditional Japanese rice paper screens for added intimacy, while the indoor and outdoor zen-style raked gardens serve to further enhance the Asian vibe.
The main dining room “the Kyo-shun” is warmed with rich, dark timber plank flooring and together, the designers have worked to maintain a sense of openness within the space with an exposed kitchen highlighting the exceptional abilities of world leading chefs.
Sister restaurant Zurriola inhabits a larger portion of the floor area with the restaurant split over two levels and it has been classically styled to promote a seductive ambience reminiscent of Barcelona’s famed La Rambla. Guests are welcomed into the romantic, secluded space by a dimly-lit, three-metre high wine cellar showcasing an impressive list of Spanish vintages.
The trio of restaurants are set to open early September, 2013.
