Light based and 3D mapping artist Ryan Uzilevsky was in Hong Kong early this week to give a special talk at The Library @ Duddell’s.

Uzilevsky’s large-scale public 3D video mapping installations have appeared on iconic city facades including New York’s Guggenheim Museum and Manhattan Bridge. His latest work, titled “Simple Creatures” (featured here), was at VIVID Festival, Sydney.

The 3D projection, shown on the facade of Sydney University, unfolds in a conceptual triptych narrative about the human quest for, and ultimate separation from materialistic obsession. Multi-coloured silhouetted individuals each representing a different strata of society, find themselves challenged by realms of illusion and truth. These realms are represented by the transforming features of the University building’s towering facade
