The almost ubiquitous access to wireless data and the diminishing sizes of technological devices have led to a new outlook on the functions of the office: work is no longer a place we go to, but is something we do – anywhere and anytime.
Office designs have thus evolved, becoming more human-centred with a focus on creating healthy, high performance ergonomic environments that also encourage collaboration and promote greater interaction and communication amongst employees.
As an authoritative voice and leader in workplace design, Herman Miller Asia Pacific is now inviting design firms in the region to submit their best projects for recognition in Liveable Office Award 2015. The main aim of this competition is to raise awareness of the importance of good workspace design in helping companies achieve broader organisational goals.
Works will be assessed by a distinguished panel of judges, They include Raj Nandan, CEO and Publisher, Indesign Media Asia Pacific; William To, Senior Consultant, Hong Kong Design Centre and Director, Creative and Programme, PMQ; Kelley Cheng, Founder/Creative Director, The Press Room; Jeremy Hocking, Vice President, Herman Miller Asia Pacific; and Prof. Dr. Lou Yongqi, Dean, College of Design & Innovation, Tongji University.
The projects will be judged based on their ability to instill a sense of corporate culture, enable focus work in an open space, support various forms of collaboration, create health-positive working environments, and their level of environmental responsibility.
