7 Reasons Why You Should Be At Singapore Indesign

#1 Be among the first to see brand new products

Many exhibitors are taking this opportunity to launch new and innovative products. Here’s a sneak peek at some of what you will see:

#2 Sit in on designer talks and conversations

Last year, Singapore Indesign introduced the highly successful Design Conversations to the programme, in which thought-leaders and industry-shakers took to the stage to discuss the latest ideas, directions, trends and opportunities in design.

This year, Design Conversations continues to tackle design-related topics that are pertinent and on-trend. From the fleeting definition of Southeast Asian design to the evolution of lighting in architecture to the importance of future-proofing an ageing city, these talks are one of the most anticipated facets of Singapore Indesign. Seats are limited, of course, but you can register here.

#3 Check out the Instagram-worthy design installations

One of the biggest draws of Singapore Indesign is the opportunity to see creativity on display. The exhibitors go all out to create Instagram-friendly moments that become the talk of the town. Here’s a sneak peek at a couple of this year’s highlights.

EDL and ipli Architects take over the façade of the Space Furniture showroom to present DEMATERIAL. The outside of the building will be visually distorted, giving it a pixellated effect that invites you to take a closer look and have a feel.

The collaboration between Kreon and Studiogoto is definitely intriguing. The abstract installation is centred around a series of suspended Cloud lights, lending to its name, cloud FORMation. The architectural form of the cloud light fittings will sway gently in motion, creating interesting changes in light and shade.

#4 Rub shoulders with international guests

It’s an industry pow-wow with a guestlist that includes some of the industry’s hottest talents. Singapore Indesign is part of Indesign: The Event, which holds similar events in cities around Asia Pacific. Each event draws a host of famous faces and renowned international guests. We’re excited to welcome Nipa Doshi of London-based design duo Doshi Levien. Nipa will be presenting the studio’s collaboration with Kvadrat.

OM will also be bringing a slew of international designers, including Sean Dix who will be speaking on retail and hospitality design.

#5 Stand a chance to win fantastic designer prizes

Who doesn’t love a good giveaway? Attending Singapore Indesign gives you a chance to win some dream designer prizes. There are more than $33,000 worth of covet-worthy prizes up for grabs, including these items:

To stand a chance to win these (and other designer pieces), make sure you visit all the stops on the Singapore Indesign route. Have your pass scanned at the door of each stop so you’ll be on record. After the event, a random draw will declare the winners of the contest!

#6 Score an invite to the exclusive VIP After Party

After each Singapore Indesign event, the organisers, exhibitors and a few lucky attendees head to a private After Party that brings together the who’s who of the design world. Rub shoulders with famous faces while enjoying the free flow of food and drinks. It’s the perfect opportunity to network and catch up with old friends.

This year, a limited number of tickets to the After Party are up for sale! Email your request here.

#7 It’s free to attend, with leading brands extending their warm hospitality

Singapore Indesign is completely free to attend. You can register on the day itself, or better yet, beat the queue and pre-register here.

At the event, you’ll receive a tote bag and lanyard, and there are free shuttle buses making loops between all participating locations. Flash your pass, hop on the bus and hop off at any designated stop. It’s free and easy, so don’t worry about following a fixed schedule.

Enjoy great food and drinks at the various exhibiting locations. There will also be thoughtful souvenirs and mementos up for grabs.
