Here are just some of the many great reasons to join the rest of the design community at Singapore Indesign on 4 October 2014.
July 4th, 2014
#1 The Design Event That’s Well-Designed
If you’re going to see new products and brands – see them displayed well. Rather than cramming every kind of brand into a one-size-fits-all trade hall, we unite showrooms and pop-up spaces across Bras Basah, Dhoby Ghaut, River Valley and Tanjong Pagar, connected by design trails and our fleet of free hop-on/hop-off shuttle buses.
#2 Fresh New European Designs
To name just a few: from Germany, we have manufacturer of inspirational kitchen systems, Bulthaup; elegant industrial lighting solutions from Waldmann Lighting; and a century of experience behind Wilkhahn’s award-winning workplace chairs and furnishings. From Belgium, the artistry of Kreon’s “purity of light” collections, and many more to be announced. See the full list here.
#3 A Balance of Local And International Brands
We’ve curated the most exciting Singaporean design brands and companies, such as 25-year-strong furniture, lighting and accessories retailer XTRA, alongside global benchmark setters, such as the world’s largest designer and maker of carpet tiles, Contrac-Image/Interface. Stay tune for our announcement of local design brands on display.
#4 Our Collaborative Installation Series, The Project
Do not miss seeing local architecture and design studios, artists and other creative teams join forces with our Exhibitors to create installations that respond to the theme “Future”. Previous years have seen everything from projections and visual illusions to sculpture and special builds, by studios as diverse as Geyer, Fuur Associates, Distillery and Elixr, to name just a few.

#6 Check Out Launch Pad – Singapore’s Most Talented Emerging Designers in the Spotlight
#7 The Only International Commercial Design Event For The Asia Pacific Region
Indesign: The Event connects the strong architecture and design networks of Asia, Australia and the entire Asia Pacific region. It has been held across Singapore, Hong Kong, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane annually since 2003.
#8 A Week Of Festivities
Singapore Indesign kicks off early with fringe events such as XTRA’s 25th Anniversary celebration, Wilkhahn and Waldmann’s joint festivity, and ends with our own closing night gala. There are many more programming elements to be announced, so register to attend and you’ll be the first to know.
#9 Perspectives From Our Ambassadors
Singapore Indesign Ambassadors are leaders in the architecture and design community. Our announced Ambassadors to date are Natalie Louey, Director and Head of Interiors at ONG&ONG; Peter Tay, Principal of Peter Tay Studio; Tanya Suvannapong, Principal at HASSELL Singapore; Talenia Phua Gajardo, Founder of T+ and Director of The Artling; Yah-Leng Yu and Arthur Chin, founders of Foreign Policy; and George Budiman, President of Interior Confederation of Singapore. They will be telling us more about their work, their thoughts on the future of design and the state of design in Singapore. More Ambassadors will be revealed soon.
#10 Because Work Should Be Fun
Our multi-location, creatively charged, roving inner city format gives Singapore Indesign a festive atmosphere. Get out of the studio. Meet new collaborators. Introduce your team to the rest of the industry. Importantly, enjoy yourself!

The internet never sleeps! Here's the stuff you might have missed
The 60,000-sq-m space unfolds over eight floors and aims to encourage social interaction rather than a place to simply come and work in isolation. But outside of the obvious “collaboration stations” how are we designing spaces that actually make us want to get together?
