Located on the Western side of Hong Kong Island, the Central district will be one of the three design precincts to feature in Hong Kong Indesign: The Event, November 30, 2013.

Creative and Design Scene
Pound the pavement through Central and you’ll notice a collection of design stores all within close proximity to one another. Starting at iconic Wyndham Street, you’ll find a select group of premium home furnishing brands such as Flos and Maxalto. It’s here that you’ll also come across individual flagship outlet stores such as Kartell, owned by renowned Hong Kong designer brand, Essess Designer FABRICA.
Located within a stone’s throw is Hollywood Road, a winding strip dedicated to boutique retailers and art galleries. A large-scale showroom to take up postcode on the street is furniture supplier Humanscale, which offers a variety of ergonomic and forward-thinking designs. Work-life supplier, Steelcase, can also be visited close by.
In the mood for art? Among the plethora of cafes, Hollywood Road is known for its energetic art vibe with names such as Connoisseur Contemporary and Amelia Johnson Contemporary showcasing international collections.
Lifestyle scene
Central is the central business district of Hong Kong and is home to some of the Island’s most iconic buildings, restaurants, clothing boutiques and art galleries – not to mention design and lifestyle stores.
The area is best known for Soho, Mid-levels and Lan Kwai Fong – these areas are littered with local to high-end international eateries and offer a broad selection of wine and cocktails bars.
Because the Central district is challenged by hilly terrain, the area boasts the world’s longest outdoor escalator, which spans 800 metres in distance and covers a height of 135 metres from bottom to top.
