Creative and design scene

Because of the sheer size of Causeway Bay, the art and design scene is fairly spaced out. However the number of design suppliers within the area is quite astounding.

The area consists of leading international suppliers yet also hosts some individual and boutique design houses, which lends diversity to the range of goods to be found within this vibrant area.

You will find a congregation of high-end kitchen brands situated on Leighton Road including the flagship Miele showroom that opened in 2006 after 10 months of conceptual planning and design fit-out.

The intelligent Miele space provides a 24-hour presence with its themed window displays and digitally projected artwork. The brand has also introduced a private penthouse guest lounge set over 5,000 square feet and located within the desirable ‘Hysan Avenue’ area of Causeway Bay.

Other boutique retailers within the district include Aluminium, Strato and Poggenpohl.

Lifestyle scene

This vibrant shopping metropolis housing an array of international fashion labels is situated only 3 kilometers East of Central and is known to be one of the most densely populated districts on Hong Kong Island.

Most will visit Causeway Bay to experience the iconic 13 level Japanese department store, Sogo, The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club and the World Trade Centre, while others will simply opt for a day of window shopping with hundreds of stores lining the streets.

Reachable by the efficient MTR system, Causeway Bay is considered the second largest business hubs on the Island therefore attracting a variety of industry sectors with real estate prices slightly lower than those within the Central district.

Editor’s pick for lunch
