Architects, creative thinkers and entrepreneurs are set to flock to Hong Kong next week for the presentations, forums, lectures, discussion panels and more that make up the annual Business of Design Week (BoDW). This year, the four-day conference will run from 30 November to 3 December 2016, and the event’s partner city is Chicago, a.k.a. the Windy City.
BoDW will happen at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, and attendees will get to hear from the likes of Carol Ross Barney, whose firm Ross Barney designed the recently completed Chicago Riverwalk, Carlo Ratti from MIT Senseable City Lab and carlorattiassociati, industrial designer Tim Brown, Hong Kong-based designer Michael Young, lighting designer Michele De Lucchi and many more.
Among the global brands talking about their experiences at the event are Airbnb, Conran and Partners, Herman Miller, Aesop, Camper and Tencent. Topics under discussion are online business trends, urban renewal, workspace design, food and design – a new topic for the conference – technology and design, and so much more.
BoDW first launched in 2002; now in its 15th year, it’s an opportunity for industry professionals to come together to exchange ideas and network. It’s organised each year by the Hong Kong Design Centre, alongside deTour at PMQ, which runs from 24 November to 4 December.
